About Harry Banks
I'm a nature and landscape photographer and a computer technology educator living in Alaska, and while some might think those two careers don't belong together, I like to think of myself as a bridge between "wild" and "wired."
As a photographer, my mission is simple: capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world while avoiding the occasional bear encounter (don't ask me how I know). My fine art prints bring these landscapes into homes, and I love sharing the adventure of finding the perfect shot.
In the classroom, I teach future tech professionals how to navigate the world of software, systems, and networks. While I'm not usually surrounded by mountain peaks, I do spend a lot of time climbing mountains of code and helping students figure out the best way to debug their projects. (Spoiler alert: the answer is always "Google it.")
Whether I'm hiking to my next shoot or explaining the wonders of cloud computing, my work revolves around solving problems, telling stories, and helping others see the world--whether through the lens or the terminal.
I'm always open to collaborations, whether you want to commission a photograph or need a tech mentor who can also teach you how to troubleshoot your printer. (Just kidding--'ll only help with that if you're really nice.)
